Principal, UTHS-International
Dan Diehl joined UT High School as the International Principal in 2022 after serving 18 years as a principal in two school districts in central Texas and one in Southern California. In 2016 Mr. Diehl was a finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education Secondary Principal of the Year after he led Bedichek Middle School to recognition as an AVID National Demonstration School. In 2017 he opened Sycamore Springs Middle School and guided the campus to national recognition as a Texas School to Watch in 2021. Mr. Diehl began his teaching career in 1993 in Dallas, Texas and taught for 7 years in ESL, ELA, science, math, and AVID at the secondary level before advancing into administration. He holds a Texas lifetime teaching certification in ESL as well as Principal and Superintendent Certifications. He is a sports fan, enjoys travelling with his family, and takes pleasure in tending to his tomato garden.
