After teaching in the public school system for 31 years, 30 at Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, I have retired to focus solely on my AP consulting duties.  My work at Kempner included 25 years of teaching AP Government and AP Economics courses and leading the Social Studies Department as chairperson.

My College Board experiences include working as a reader and table leader for the US government and politics exam from 1999 through 2019.  I have presented economics and government training sessions at multiple universities in College Board’s Southwest Region, Florida, California, Colorado, and Massachusetts.  I have also had the chance to present economics training programs in eastern Russia, have led a national AP conference in Guanzhou, China and presented at the national AP conferences in California and Pennsylvania.  My most recent event was presenting at the AP International Conference in Beijing, China.

During 2020, I presented six on-line university APSI sessions and one College Board international economics session.

I was the lead author for Kaplan’s AP Government and Politics review text (2007 through 2017) and am a contributing author and editor for Pearson’s Test Prep Series for Economics.

Currently, my duties also include working with the College Board consultant mentor program in the fields of macro and micro economics and US government.   I mentor AP teachers in a school district in San Antonio in the subjects of US government and politics and macro economics and I am mentoring four future consultants for AP government.
